Big Spring 2015 Recap!

I’ve been working hard this spring on a lot of great new projects. Some I can share here, some I’ll unfortunately have to wait a while to reveal! But in the meantime, here are some recent projects from a variety of fantastic clients.

Fresh Foods – Philadelphia City Paper

Spring Vegetables

Interior – Philadelphia City Paper

Here are some fresh new illustrations for Philadelphia City Paper’s spring foods issue. I illustrated the cover and a large interior illustration showing some glistening spring veggies making their way to the frying pan. I’m really happy with the design on these, I think it all works very well together.

Some of my favorite vegetables are represented, notably asparagus and artichokes. Artichokes are really just fun to eat, and with a nice dipping sauce they are pretty tasty too.

Here’s a quick recipe for artichoke dipping sauce, thanks to Martha Stewart:

In a small bowl, stir together 3/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise and 1 or 2 minced garlic cloves (a garlic press works best here). Season with coarse salt and ground pepper.

There you have it. Just steam your artichokes for 25-40 minutes and you have a tasty appetizer. Enjoy!

Street Festival Food

Street Festival Food – Time Out Chicago

Here are some food illustrations for Time Out Chicago. These are for their Summer Festival Guide’s street food festival story.

I love drawing food. Especially food that looks as delicious as these do. Especially the pierogies, I love pierogies. And eclairs.
