Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls

I drew this Rose piece during a Bulls vs. Pacers playoff game recently and finished it up with some color. Derrick Rose will be awarded the MVP trophy before tonight’s game, making him the youngest NBA MVP in history. 22 years old!

I love to watch this guy play and bring the Bulls back to being great again. It’s been a long time since the glory days of the 90s.

    • Thanks Jocelyn, I used a bunch of photos for reference (including photos of myself in a similar pose). It’s amazing how far back he puts that ball behind his head!

      • I was wondering, and that makes a lot of sense. It looks like his dunk on Dragic, which I’ve been rewatching to study his form for a painting I promised my little brother. It is amazing how far back he puts the ball and in some of them how low he puts it, under his feet and all.
Keep up the good work! =]

  • I really like this! Despite growing up a Knicks fan and Jordan-hater, Rose and Noah have me doing the unthinkable these days: rooting for the Bulls.
